Integrated Boutique PR and Digital Agency, POP Communications Celebrates Anniversary with Operational Milestones and Acute Vision

Over 150 Clients Serviced, Wide Sector Diversification, Digital Shift, Long-Term and Regional Anchor Clients Secured, Senior Team Growth, and Flexible Work Model Achieved

Dubai, UAE – 11 August 2022: Marking five years of making clients ‘pop’ in a crowded market, POP Communications celebrates its work with 157 clients across traditional PR and media relations, social media, and events. Founded on 15 August 2017, the multi-disciplinary agency has maintained its position as an authentic communications firm with its results-driven, big agency thinking and bespoke agency flexibility to service regional and international clients across the GCC.

Spearheaded by energetic and creative entrepreneurs, POP has steered away from a traditional PR approach yet still achieved success. Partnering with globally recognized brands has still been achieved due to the firm’s ability to tap into market changes and technological advancements ahead of the curve. Influencer marketing, digital ads, and targeted events are some non-traditional tactics POP has been applying to client campaigns ahead of the digital communication shift. More recently, performance marketing has been added to the firm’s services noting this popular client engagement technique. These novel strategic and required tactics supported by seasoned communication techniques highlighted essential industry strengths and fostered the firm’s growth.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating our fifth anniversary and credit POP’s success to our clients, team, and regional media relationships. The past five years have been an incredible personal and professional learning experience. Starting and managing a business in a competitive market coupled with the challenge of a global pandemic forced us to evaluate our business model and procure efficient operations, resulting in the firm’s growth and evolution,” said Zainab Imichi Alhassan Alli, Co-Founder, POP Communications.

While the firm has always worked across several sectors, 30% of clients have been in the f&b / hospitality space and 25% in the beauty and wellness sphere. Determined to fully cover the region across industries, POP branched into other segments including education, healthcare, start-ups, technology, social enterprise, and multi-national global firms since its inception – a core business goal.

From internationally recognized names such as Bosch, Siemens, and Wingstop, to homegrown concepts such as Ink Hotel, Kcal, NRTC Fresh (f&b), and Zofeur (start-up/tech) the firm brings its stellar work ethic to all clients regardless of size. Adding to this, securing a regional anchor client in a focus sector for the agency to build a reputation was another significant goal achieved. Obtaining ACCUMED (regional healthcare RCM provider) and its partner firms Santechture (healthcare fintech) and Knwbility (healthcare administrative training academy) were breakthrough achievements for the agency.

To celebrate its five years of being in business, the company has implemented a ‘No Pressure Fridays’ work model as flexible work options are a key component of POP’s ethos. Offering one day a week as a cushion for staff to choose what they want to do with it –focus on work for a particular client, forward plan, administrative catch-up or take the day off work. When the pressure of a stringent four-day work week is removed, the team and principals find efficiency, productivity, and work/life balance increases.

“Our growth and success validate our business approach – investing in and retaining stellar staff and long-term clients for collective prosperity. Zainab and I attribute much of POP’s progress to our flexible work model which engages and appeases our staff and clients equally resulting in a creative and talented team producing results to match. We’re beyond grateful to our supporters during this journey and are excited for the road ahead with a laser-sharp focus on our goals.,” said Sarah Curtis, Co- Founder, POP Communications.

Lastly, adding to the client roster and accommodating approach, POP has maintained a boutique core team of professionals with experienced skillsets to compete with larger agencies. This past year, the senior team of the founders was boosted with the addition of a director. The innovative and diverse team with a keen sense of trending and evolved strategies has enabled the firm’s advancement in the digital space to support clients’ needs. From refined content creation, relatable graphics, memes and videos, podcasts, and targeted ads and SEO, these necessary skills have been instrumental towards market alignment, industry advancement, and operational accomplishments.
