UAE, 27 MARCH 2023: Today the MMA announced the SMARTIES 2022 shortlist which includes 163 finalists from across the Middle East and North Africa region.
An annual competition, the SMARTIES MENA honor the most effective modern marketing, recognising outstanding innovation and creativity resulting in significant business impact. Winners of the SMARTIES awards, will also be recognised by WARC.
The esteemed SMARTIES MENA 2022 jury consisted of 88 of thought leaders from across the MENA region. The dedicated jury spent 2 weeks evaluating campaigns from across the region, including creatives from the UAE, KSA, Lebanon, and Egypt. This year the MMA received double the amount of entries compared to last year, which demonstrates the quality of work being produced in the region. The shortlist includes work from both agencies and inhouse teams, with Publicis Groups and UM MENA leading the way with over 15 campaigns shortlisted.
Melis Ertem, Regional Director of the MMA says “SMARTIES MENA this year had 33 categories, where many were revised and repurposed categories aiming to celebrate the campaigns that sets an example to the future of marketing. We have seen some of the most innovative and forward-thinking campaigns coming from across all industries in the region. The Pre-Judging and Final Judging Juries worked endlessly to determine the best of the best. I congratulate all the shortlisted for their hard work and innovative marketing approach’
SMARTIES MENA trophy categories include Bronze, Silver, Gold and Industry Awards. The annual awards celebrating marketing through new technology will hand out a number of awards at a gala taking place at The Rixos, JBR on the evening of May 18 2023, which will succeed the SMARTIES INNOVATION & CREATIVITY DAYS, NEXT! Dubai Conference.
The MMA MENA SMARTIES 2022 Finalists based on categories including Brand Experience, Partnership Marketing, Diversity & Inclusion, Impact Media, Experience Technology, Web 3.0, E-commerce Marketing, and Creativity.
