McDonald’s UAE customers can donate to Emirates Red Crescent by purchasing a book for 5AED only 

DUBAI, UAE – 12 April 2021During the Holy Month of Ramadan, McDonald’s UAE is reigniting its partnership with Emirates Red Crescent to launch the Ramadan Books Campaign in line with its commitment to give back to communities in need across the country. 

Through this initiative, McDonald’s UAE is encouraging families and children to take up reading by collecting a series of four books that will be available across the UAE. Priced at 5AED each, the children’s books have been written exclusively for McDonald’s and focus on important lessons including, bullying, open-mindedness, sportsmanship, and arrogance. Each story is written to help children understand the importance of actions and consequences.

This partnership is encouraging community members to give back by helping a child through the purchase of a book. The topics addressed in our books are key values which we hope to educate the next generation on to continue promoting a positive environment.” said Walid Fakih, General Manager at McDonald’s UAE

He added: “I am also confident that the Ramadan Books campaign, will not only deliver positivity to our community, but also bring great joy to the ones who need it the most. We’ve received an overwhelming number of positive responses from our consumers over the past few years and we hope that our “Buy a book, Help a child” initiative will encourage even more people to do good during this holy season .”

McDonald’s UAE has been a long-standing partner of Emirates Red Crescent and the Ramadan Books campaign is one of the company’s ongoing efforts to support its charitable and humanitarian initiatives. In 2018 and 2019 combined, McDonald’s UAE raised a total of over 600,000AED by selling 120,000 books, all of which was donated to Emirates Red Crescent.

We are big advocates of educating the next generation through reading and we can’t think of a better way to both instill a passion of reading in children and support those in need.”

The four books will be on sale starting the first day of Ramadan and are available through the McDonald’s App and at all McDonald’s restaurants across the UAE.
