• @SerieA will feature content in both English and Arabic, making Serie A the first global football league to provide content in Arabic, espeically for MENA audiences

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 5 May 2023: The official “Serie A” global Snapchat account has been launched, adding a new channel to the digital and social media offerings of Lega Serie A.

The new account will initially be presented in English and Arabic, with a view to reaching an even wider global and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) audience, and will involve influencer partnerships targeted at the most popular geographies for the social media platform.

Lega Serie A will also be collaborating with Snapchat to produce unique content and creation tools, including augmented reality, filters, and avatars that users can add to their daily communications. This will help create new ways to engage with fans, especially younger generations, who will have access to a variety of exclusive features.

“This move will increase the number of Serie A fans, as the league has now expanded to 20 official accounts in eight languages, producing custom-made content for each region, created by the league’s media company”, said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A. “With the launch of the Serie A profile on Snapchat, we are expanding our multimedia offerings with the aim of increasing the number of Serie A fans. The Serie A account will allow us to target two important areas such as the USA and MENA, where the platform is particularly present and widespread”.

“We are so happy to partner with Serie A, one of the world’s most important sports leagues, and to be able to offer premium football content to our 750 million monthly active users. We are looking forward to seeing millions of fans engage with Italian football and being able to help the House of Calcio expand on the new generation of Sports fans thanks to Snap”, said Alejandro Arenas, Snap Inc. International Sports Partnerships.

“It is with great excitement that we announce the launch of the Lega Serie A official account on Snapchat. The goal of connecting with ‘calcio’ fans in the MENA region is our top priority,” said Alfonso De Stefano, Managing Director of Lega Serie A MENA. “Snapchat is  one of the most popular platforms in the region, and launching this account with dedicated Arabic content is a step forward in connecting our fans with the Serie A brand by creating high quality and relevant content for the platform”.
