“We are excited to welcome Tomaso Rodriguez to Egypt,” said Hadeer Shalaby, Managing Director of talabat Egypt. “His visit comes in line with our ongoing efforts to support the Egyptian community in growing the electronic and quick commerce sectors in the market, achieving financial inclusion and building human capabilities in the ICT sector,” she added.

Hadeel added that Rodriguez will underscore talabat’s aim at deepening its investments in the country – which will aid in job creation and further innovation in the Egyptian market. A main part of talabat’s proposed cooperation with the Egyptian government is premised on localizing Delivery Hero’s Technology Academy in order to build Egyptian capacities and better equip the youth to a digital future.

Rodriguez will additionally participate in the “Cairo ICT Conference” as a speaker on the panel discussing how technology is changing the world. He will also give a talk at the American University in Cairo, in collaboration with its Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation around the role of ICT companies in supporting entrepreneurship and determining the future of e-commerce.
