To say that AI has merely had an ‘impact’ on our lives, let alone the automotive industry, would be an understatement. Technology is developing at such a speed that if you cannot keep up, you’re out.

What was once considered to be the stuff of science fiction, has now become unavoidable reality. It’s like having your own Jarvis, but without the personalized accent (yet)

AI software, sensors, 360 degree cameras and a host of other technologies allow Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to make the driving experience as safe and enjoyable as possible, not just for the driver but also the passenger.

The more advanced the technology, the more enjoyable the ride will be. Using AI technology can help decrease road distractions, it can help understand the driver’s driving habits as well as improve the passenger’s experience with personalization and in-car services.

In the foreseeable future, AI-based technologies offered in modern hi-tech cars could address a lot of roadblocks people normally face when travelling, such as: Traffic, travel time, accidents and unnecessary car faults that could be detected with more extreme accuracy than via manual inspection.

The use of Artificial Intelligence technology may not only potentially eliminate jeopardizing driving, but also help manufacturers better analyse data, facilitate the identification of faults, and improve fuel efficiency or battery longevity in addition to many more, all of which will enhance the user experience.

According to FutureBridge Analysis and Insights, it is anticipated that AI will have a 95-98% penetration in the automotive industry. Every piece of technology introduced is carefully inserted to ensure that passengers as well as car enthusiasts get the best possible experience from their vehicles.

Artificial Intelligence is here to revolutionize the mobility industry and OEMs should be able to take advantage of this technology to provide AI-driven solutions that facilitate different modes of travel with various personalized experiences/options for the end user. The question is, how far will Artificial Intelligence go and what sort of experiences/solutions do we want it to provide us with?
