About her thoughts for the industry

Having been a part of the technology sphere for more than a decade, I’ve witnessed the evolution of the industry. The IT sector is rapidly growing and encompasses everything from designing and developing software applications to managing large-scale IT infrastructure and providing support services.

One of the biggest trends we’ve observed in recent years has been the shift towards digital transformation, a process of integrating digital technologies into varied aspects of a business. The implementation of digital technologies fundamentally changes a company’s capability to operate and deliver value to its customers.

This digital renaissance has been a long time coming and now we are in the throes of it, the entire industry is going through a rapid transformation. Everything and everyone are connected, regardless of location. Through this pervasive connectivity, the ability to access information and services at any time has improved communications and collaboration. Network perimeters have changed, and technology experts continue to break moulds, bringing people and businesses closer together.

Our commitment to diversity, corporate responsibility, and sustainability – built on a strong foundation of transparency, governance, and ethics – creates value for society, the communities in which we operate, our investors, our customers, and other stakeholders. Sustainable business practices help mitigate risks, reduce costs, build brand value, and identify new market opportunities. Intel continuously looks for ways to improve its business and develop more sustainable technology solutions, as well as to collaborate with other organizations to advance best practices in corporate responsibility worldwide.

Ubiquitous computing is another huge change that has reframed the way people work. The seamless integration of computing into both the environment and everyday activities is reframing the way people interact with each other and, as we venture through the next five years, I believe ubiquitous computing will improve everyone’s quality of life.

The technology sector has watched Artificial Intelligence (AI) take the world by storm. With pertinent issues consistently unfolding, AI has been able to combine computer science and robust datasets to enable efficient and crucial problem-solving. In addition, high-resolution sensors have collected massive amounts of data from smart devices, converging with advancements in automation, processing and software giving machines human-centric abilities. Developments such as these will redefine the world we live in, making our lives seamless.

Together, as we move into unchartered territory, the technology industry continues to re-write boundaries and make the world an efficient, better, and connected place, truly enhancing individuals’ lives.
